Pescara Marina 11 April 2025, from 9:00 a.m. The “Gabriele d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts of Chieti-Pescara, is organising the National Sea Day, an opportunity for reflection and discussion aimed at reaffirming the role of the sea as an essential asset for the community. The event, which will take place in the evocative and highly suitable setting of the Pescara Marina, forms part of the nationwide initiatives scheduled for 11 April, introduced by the new Pleasure Craft Code. The purpose of the National Sea Day is to raise awareness among young people, engaging them through activities and dedicated discussion sessions in order to make them active citizens of the sea. The declared objective is to foster in them an understanding of the sea as an extraordinary cultural, scientific, recreational, and economic resource.Fully aware of the significance of this mission, the “G. d’Annunzio” University, through the leadership of Rector Liborio Stuppia, intends to play an active role in encouraging students, citizens, institutions, and associations to express and enhance their relationship with the sea.Coordinated by the University Delegate for Third Mission, Enrico Miccadei, and by Tosca Chersich, Head of the Promotion Area of the Chieti-Pescara Chamber of Commerce, the National Sea Day will unfold throughout the entire day with a rich programme of events. These activities—organised by researchers, national and international experts, performers, and artists, all united by the theme of the sea—will be open to the public and to schools of all levels.
