In the context of nationally funded projects, the Research Division is the point of contact for funding bodies, such as Ministries, public and private bodies, Foundations and Associations based in the national territory, entitled to manage scientific and technological research programmes of national importance.

The implementation of the financed projects is the responsibility of the University structures identified in the Statute (Departments, Centres and Museum), as they are places for carrying out teaching and research activities.

The Research Division monitors the Research and University Ministry portal in relation to the

• promotion, programming and coordination of financed research at national, european and international levels;
• promotion of research financed by national and community funds; 
• promotion of scientific culture;
• encouragement and facilitation of financed research in companies and other public and private entities.
