Student Council

Pursuant to Article 35 of the University Statute, the Student Council is the body that ensures the autonomous participation of the University’s students in institutional life. The Council is composed of one student representative for every one thousand enrolled students, including those elected to the Academic Senate and the Board of Governors.

The Student Council acts as a consultative body on the following matters:

  • Teaching activities and services
  • Right to education
  • Student-organized educational activities in the fields of culture, sports, and leisure.

Procedure for Submitting an Individual Candidacy to Degree Program Councils (CdS) without Student Representation

Scope. This procedure governs the submission of individual candidacies to Degree Program Councils (CdS) that currently have no elected student representatives and the related declaration of availability to be appointed as a student representative.

1. Eligibility. Any student enrolled in a Degree Program (CdS) without elected student representatives may submit a candidacy to be appointed by the Student Council as a student representative in that CdS.

2. Submission of Candidacy.

Students wishing to apply must declare their availability to be appointed as a student representative for the Degree Program in which they are enrolled. To this end, they shall:

  • complete the attached “Declaration of Candidacy” form; and
  • attach a copy of a valid identification document.

The documentation must be submitted to the Chair of the Student Council within five (5) days of receiving the notification email referred to below.

  • Send the signed Declaration and the ID copy by email to: [email protected];
